A new Pride and Prejudice series is in the works
Netflix is developing a new series based on Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice', with acclaimed author Dolly Alderton writing the scripts. While no cast has been announced and the project hasn't been officially greenlit, anticipation is high.
Netflix previously adapted Austen's 'Persuasion' in 2022, starring Dakota Johnson. 'Pride and Prejudice', published in 1813, tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet's evolving relationship with Mr. Darcy, exploring themes of love, pride, and societal expectations.
The novel has seen several successful adaptations, including the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. Alderton, known for her memoir 'Everything I Know About Love', adds fresh excitement to the project.
Additionally, the BBC recently announced 'The Other Bennet Sister', a spinoff about Mary Bennet.
