Coldplay’s 'Moon Music' tops charts for the first time
Coldplay's latest album 'Moon Music' has achieved its first Billboard 200 No 1 in over a decade, debuting with 120,000 equivalent album units, including 106,000 in traditional album sales.
The release of their 10th studio album had the highest opening week for the band in the US since their 2015 album, 'A Head Full of Dreams. The latest album also marks their first time topping the Billboard 200 charts since their 2014 album, 'Ghost Stories'.
'Moon Music' has also had the most impressive opening week so far for a UK act in 2024.
"To achieve this success in the middle of a record-breaking stadium tour makes it all the more impressive," commented Phil Harvey, who is Coldplay's manager.
