The Handmaid's Tale last season in production
'The Handmaid's Tale' has started production for season six, the finale of the dystopian series.
According to TVLine, Elisabeth Moss, who plays June Osborne, will be directing four episodes in the upcoming season which includes the first two episodes, the penultimate episode, and the finale.
Hulu confirmed that the final season will premiere in spring 2025, delayed from its original fall 2024 release due to industry strikes.
The final season will pick up where it left off in season 5, with June grappling with the consequences of a gruesome murder and her ongoing conflict with, Serena (Yvonne Strahovski).
Meanwhile, Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) seeks to reform Gilead with Nick (Max Minghella) and Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd). June, still in Canada, continues her fight against Gilead with Luke (O.T. Fagbenle) and Moira (Samira Wiley).
