Afghanistan are one step away from victory as Bangladesh are in a spot of bother in the solitary test between the teams. Bangladesh are 102-4 at Tea and are 296 runs away from victory.
Afghanistan were all out for 260 in their second innings to increase their lead up to 397. In reply, Bangladesh lost wickets at random during the second session as they are now on the brink of defeat.
The day’s play started late because of rain and wet outfield, but Bangladesh were quick to wrap the Afghan innings as the visitors only managed to add 23 runs to their total this morning.
On their pursuit of 398, Liton Das and Sadman Islam started pretty well as they put up 30 runs for no loss at lunch. But soon after lunch, Liton was trapped in front by Zahir Khan before Mosaddek got out playing an unnecessary lofted shot. Mushfiqur Rahim tried to counter-attack the Afghan bowlers, only to be LBW on 23 off a Rashid Khan googly. Mominul had a brief stay as he too was trapped LBW by Rashid, the Afghan skipper picking up his seventh wicket in the match. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and opener Sadman ensured that no more wickets were lost until Tea as they were unbeaten on 14 and 39 respectively.
