Writ on the validity of trade agreement with the United States
A writ petition has been filed against the validity of Bangladesh's Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) with the United States. A Supreme Court lawyer filed the writ petition with the relevant branch of the High Court on Monday as the petitioner. Meanwhile, Brendan Lynch, a senior official of the US Department of International Trade, is visiting Dhaka amid various initiatives and criticisms of the government regarding the implementation of the 'Reciprocal Trade Agreement' (ART) with the United States.
