Ex-MP Bodi shifted to Ctg jail
Former member of parliament for Cox's Bazar-4 constituency Abdur Rahman Bodi, who is in jail in an attempted murder case, has been shifted to Chattogram Central Jail.
He was brought to Chattogarm from Cox's Bazar under heavy police guard last night (6 September), said Chattogram Central Jail Deputy Jailor Sumaya Khatun.
"Bodi has been transferred to Chattogram Jail for security reasons. There are cases also against him at Chattogram court filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission [ACC]," she added.
On 18 August, Teknaf upazila BNP leader Mohammad Abdullah filed a case with Teknaf Police Station against 20 people, including Bodi, accusing them of attempting to murder him in Teknaf municipality's KK Para area.
Bodi was arrested by members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from GEC intersection area of Chattogram on 21 August in connection with the case.
Later, when he was taken to court, Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Hamimun Tamjid sent him to jail.
