Ghoraghat UNO discharged from hospital
Wahida Khanam is now out of danger, said Professor Jahed Hossain
Wahida Khanam, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Ghoraghat, Dinajpur, who was brutally attacked along with her father inside their government quarter in early September, has been discharged from the hospital on Thursday after being recovered.
"Waheeda Khanam was discharged from National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospital at around 12 pm," said Jahed Hossain, head of the medical board set up for her treatment and a professor at the National Institute of Neuroscience and Hospital, reports Prothom Alo.
"Wahida Khanam now can write and move her hands. She has some problems with his right leg. In this case, she has been advised to get treatment at Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) at Mirpur," the professor added.
"She is now out of danger", said Professor Jahed Hossain.
After the attack on September 3, Wahida's elder brother Sheikh Farid Uddin filed a case against 4-5 unknown people at Ghoraghat Police Station over the incident.
Later, on September 11, Robiul Islam, 43, who had been suspended from his post of the gardener over a theft case, was arrested from his house for allegedly attack the UNO and her father.
On September 19, Wahida Khanam, was made officer on special duty (OSD) while her husband Mezbaul Hossain, who was working as a UNO in Rangpur's Pirganj, was also transferred as a senior assistant secretary in the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health in Dhaka.
