A process is underway to bring expert doctors from countries, including China, Nepal, France, UK and Australia, to treat those injured during the July-August uprising, Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum said today (7 October).
"The government is in contact with various countries and multinational development organisations in this regard," the adviser said in a press conference at the Secretariat.
China's advanced medical team has already arrived in Dhaka, she mentioned.

The health adviser also said three expert doctors from Nepal went to the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital in Dhaka under the joint initiative of Seba Foundation and Health Services Division to treat the injured.
"Specialist doctors from Nepal have provided eye treatment to 192 patients and completed operations on four critical patients," she added.
The adviser further said a specialist doctor from France will arrive today.
Besides, the British ambassador said orthopaedic doctors from the UK will come to Bangladesh within 15 days, she said.
The health advisor said the committee formed with the aim of formulating policies for the treatment of injured persons and preparing a complete list of martyrs and injured persons has already submitted a draft policy and a preliminary list to the ministry.
"The list has been published in the form of a public notice for public scrutiny. The list will be finalised in the shortest possible time. As of 6 October, the number of martyrs in the mass uprising across the country is 737 and the number of injured is 22,907," she added.
