Fire safety in Mirpur eatery hubs: Better, with room for improvement

Contrary to other restaurant hubs with insufficient staircases-cum-fire exits blocked with various objects, buildings in Mirpur, including the Sony Square, turned out to be better equipped

Like the capital’s Dhanmondi, Gulshan and Banani areas, Khilgaon also has high-rise buildings or towers with restaurants on every floor. At one of these buildings, we found the way to the stairs blocked by a huge generator. PHOTOS: MEHEDI HASAN
