Laxmii: Akshay Kumar is intense, but he can’t salvage a soulless film

Despite Akshay Kumar’s dependably strong performance, Raghava Lawrence’s remake is neither particularly funny nor very scary. It’s passable, and somewhat problematic entertainment.
